5 star rating Just got back from Camp Williams with our boy scout troop from Torrance. What a great place! From the very start we were greeted by Kitty at the store and even though we were late getting in on Friday (past official check in time) she was there with a smile and waiting for us! After going over the rules and making sure we were good to go only then did she leave. All weekend she was there to support our every need. You just don't find staff like that anywhere nowadays! The next day we were greeted by Bob, one of the many great staff for the resort. He was just checking on us to make sure we were happy with our great campsites right on the river. He is responsible for the security of the camp. He was friendly and made his rounds to all the campsites to make sure no one had any issues. Very professional! As the day went on we began to pan for gold after a great local history lesson from one of Camp Williams associates "Placer Pete" to teach the scouts how to mine gold from the river. What a great experience!!! "Placer Pete" and his crew were both funny and very educational. They are all former boy scouts and scout leaders and knew how to keep the boys entertained and focused on the activity. Of course with the excellent teaching all the boys found wild gold in the river! As the day wound down and the boys got tired of shoveling buckets of dirt we retired to the campsites for cooking and other scouting activities when we met Robin, the local volunteer fireman and medic. To my surprise he was making his rounds to every campsite and checking to see if anyone needed any medical treatment or assistance. In all my years of camping this has never occured. Even though scout troop leaders and scouts are highly trained in first aid and being self reliant it was very refreshing knowing that we had professional back up just seconds away. Fortunately we did not need his services but to anyone out there who is concerned about these type of things you can put that worry away at Camp Williams. Now, just a warning to anyone who thinks this a place to bring your college buddies and spend a weekend being a drunk dumbass... This is not the place to go! It is family oriented and they take security seriously. To me this is a big plus. (along with the clean bathrooms and showers!) I will be taking my family there on my own as well as planning scout trips there for years to come. Thank you Camp Williams! A true local treasure! - 5/31/2018

5 star rating This review is long overdue lol. We went this October with our family and two sets of neighbors and thier families. Miss Kathy and Miss Joanne are just beyond Amazingly Wonderful! My family just loves and adores her! This was our second year coming and we are very happy we did! The grounds keeper does a good job keeping the place clean and the restrooms stocked.
Our friend had a rough time sleeping with his sleeping bag so Miss Kathy provided him with an air mattress. The neighbors near Camp Williams are beautifully friendly and super sweet! Me and my family and friends have nothing but Great things to say about Camp Williams and their Amazing Staff Can't wait to come back next year - 12/27/2022
